10.15.08

step over
cross the line
an arguably arbitrary boundary
of sorts
certainly abstract

plunge into a real
but imagined
isolation,
anxious estrangement.

no freedom at all in abandoning
this particular truth.
any abandonment of truth constitutes enslavement
transforming into a victim of fate
bound to the means
of obtaining this liberty

loss of opposites
after smudging the line,
each side --good and evil--
merge and there is no difference, no discernment
out of boredom, he gives alms
in the same way that he extorts

with the same significance
with the same lack
limitless freedom in evil
undirected action
because directions have ceased
to point anywhere
