my favorite muse

loneliness is my favorite muse
for poetry
and the muse sleeps, as
all my thoughts are consumed by you
and the words i think end
on the outside of your ears
and there they seem to die

my illimitable world of expression
has found a target and
discovered its own exhaustion
the unguided and directionless emotions
emerge in bursts of
irrationality and sometimes
tender gestures
surprisingly without description
without language, without record

Very thoughtful. Elder Holland's talk for the lonely was very sacred to me today. I realized that my solitude has blessed me to have a taste of what the Lord went through for us.
